  1. I'm having trouble fitting my SVCD encode (DVD source) to 2 x 80min CD-Rs. I did a 3-pass VBR using CCE v2.70.01.05 with the following settings:

    Bitrate - Avg-2082, Min-0, Max-2524 (Values were attained from FitCD v1.2.4 by putting in 95min video @ 23.976fps, MP2 224, and 2 x 80min CD.)

After the encode, I ended up with a .mpv with a size of 1.40Gig (1,476,348KB).

The .mp2 (which was from the .ac3 from DVD2AVI) was done in BeSweet w/ setting of 224. The final size of the .mp2 was 154MB (158,653KB).

    (Ran pulldown.exe)

I multiplexed the two together with bbmpeg using 797 for max CD length and ended up w/ 3 .mpg's. (3 CDs) The 3rd CD is only 41MB.

So, my main question is have I done something incorrect? Shouldn't I have gotten just 2 CD's based off my bitrate I got from FitCD? .. And the fact that I did a 3-pass VBR so the file size would be even more close to the size of 2 CDs?

Please help me out as I've done this twice now, only the first time I used the Min. AVG that FitCD gave me (instead of "0") and both ended up the same size (within a meg or two).

    Thanks.

  2. Use DVD2SVCD with the DSRoba add-in tool.

  3. Thanks for the reply, but I'm wondering what I did wrong in the method I used. I'll look into it though.

Without actually analyzing the source, AutoFit can only provide an approximate bitrate. The D2SRoba add-in tool reads the source and sets up a series of sample short clips. It will encode with a starting bit rate, extrapolate the final size, and adjust the bit rate upward or downward, test encode again, and so forth.

The number of test encodes and the size of the test clips are determined by you.

    Give it a try.

  5. Is it possible to use RoBa without using DVD2SVCD? (Using it directly with CCE) Or is it possible to edit it so that it acts without DVD2SVCD? It keeps crashing...
