  1. I am having difficulty encoding a divx3 file to DVD with CCE. It is not encoding at all when I use DIKO and when I try CCE by itself it is giving me an error about finding the codec. I have DIVX 5.02 installed. I assume that would suffice for the current project. Is it not backwards compatible so to speak? Do I need to install the 3.11 codec for CCE to work or am totally off base and something else need be done?

Divx 5.02 should accept the DIV3 fourCC fine. What happens if you open the file via say VirtualDub?

If it opens in VirtualDub, then you can frameserve it to CCE. I do this often. It also allows you to resize, filter and adjust on the way through.

Also it means converting to RGB24. My point was that VDub opens via VFW, so if it can open it, then it should open fine in CCE and frameserve fine via AVISynth which I assume DIKO uses.

From what I remember though the divx3.11alpha decoder was somewhat buggy. The VFW decoder I think outputted RGB24 always.
