I am compiling selections of songs from concerts in several DVDs. I know I can make copies from the finished DVD or from Temp encoded files but it seems the procedure is longer than if it will ask to insert the next disc to burn. Thanks for the help.

get dvdshrink to output to an ISO file then use your burnig software ( i would use DVDDecrypter ) to burn multiply copies

You can't. You have to use a program for authoring like tmpenc dvd author, but the files have to dvd compliant (mpegs).
