When I installed XP PRO I did not set a administrative password. Could this be the reason why I can not import a file into the registry? Because I'm not logged in as the administrator? I'm trying to import a plextool hack and it says the plex file is installed but when i install the plextool upgrade it tells me no plextools installed. This registry hack does work in windows 2000 pro. This can be done with a plextools upgrade exe. I've had it on my computer when I had windows 2000 pro. This hack is common knowledge to those who own Plextor 708a. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks

I think you must have an admin account by default. Did you try logging in as "administrator" and use either a return or a space>return for the PW?

Go into Control Panel and then User Management to see if you're an Administrator. Also, if you're using the Welcome screen as opposed to the normal Login / Password screen, press and hold CTRL-ALT-DEL at the welcome screen to switch modes. Type in Administrator for the username and hit Enter.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.
