Visted here often , but first time post.I usually use vegas video for my editing,but lately i get video or audio stream could not be determined.Is there a top rated video editor out there that can swallow whatever you throw at it? Thanks for any suggestions.

For the price you pay for Vegas,I would try find out what is wrong,Maybe a reinstall,And Vegas is one of the best you can buy.

Solved problem, example just because you have the newest codecs , if a video file is encoded with an older codec(even if same manufacturer) vegas needs that codec to read , sheesh.
