I noticed in today's Sunday paper that the music industry, that has recently been promoting CDs with a "bonus" DVD in the same case, is now advertising Dual format discs. One side is an audio CD, while the other side is a DVD. Short of glueing two diskcs together, how is this accomplished? Could a dual layer disc be formated as an Audio CD and as a DVD? Or do pressed disks have more freedom as to formating? In other words, is one side pressed as a Cd, while the reverse is pressed as a DVD?

Dualdiscs are composed of a cd layer and a dvd layer that are bonded together. The result is a disc that is slightly thicker than a typical cd. This can cause compatibility problems, especially with slot loading machines, such as car cd players.
