I have no BURNING desire to save a movie that's in bin and cue format. Can I "mount" and play them on some player or must they be burned? I've looked around the how to's and fourms and can't find references to anything except burning problems. Thanks.

How hard is it to search for somthing that you want? You know what you want"MOUNT IMAGE" then play,You say you dont want to "SAVE" but want to mount this file on the computer? This to me is saving. you know the terms for what you wanted but still couldnt find the answer,This is why i didnt understand what you wanted to do.

I know it's frustrating to those of you in the know - but you also have a term you utilize frequently: newbie. So many of us have only a passing acquaintance with most of this stuff, and if we don't get back to it for - well, for me, it's probably about two years since I had anything to do with bin and cue files - we forget. The term "mount" came back to me while composing the post, having seen posts about it in the past. "Image" I know, but that one didn't occur to me.
It's like the teacher telling a kid to look up the spelling in a dictionary - how can you look it up if you can't spell it? Really, thanks for taking the time to help, but try to be patient with the great unwashed. We want to learn but it's a huge field. -
I don't think you quite get it yet
canadateck is not being a snob or an elitist. He is simply pointing out your very own inconsistencies.
You say that you do not want to save the movies (images), but you are actually saving them moreso than if they were burned to a disc.
But back to your question (I think), You can use daemon tools to mount the image and play it.

Well, the title of my original post was "archiving", by which I meant burning to disc.
Anyway, I installed Alcohol 120 and had some trouble rebooting, which makes me nervous, because you suggest installing Daemon Tools - I did that once and it crashed my computer like pavement from a 7th storey balcony. I couldn't get it back anyhow - boot discs, etc., and had to reformat and reinstall Windows.
I'm reluctant to try again. Any idea why that would happen? -
What version of DT? That's a very odd occurence.

Don't know - this would be a couple of years ago and I was using WIN98 SE at the time, which might explain it. No, wait a minute - you see what I mean about forgetting things you haven't seen in a while - it had to do with having had an early version of EasyCD on the computer. I discovered this, of course, after I'd reinstalled all my software and was once again able to access help forums online.
