Need something that is very end user friendly, preferably one that the user can load the split files into a single directory and click the exe which will also check the split files for corruption, that they are all there etc.

I need it for a large file on my website and I want to make it as acessible to everyone as possible. Splitting it is my only choice.

    I like MaxSplitter. FREEWARE

    Bahaha... check out the FAQ:

Q: I've tried to split .avi and .mpeg files but afterwards, the pieces just won't work! What option will I set to make this possible?

A: Well, MaxSplitter isn't designed to split files like movie files. MaxSplitter won't corrupt any information, but the pieces must be merged back together before the movie can be played. The reason is this: all files contains a header, which is placed first in the file. So when MaxSplitter splits the file, the header remains in the first file, rendering the second (and any other) file unreadable unless you merge them back again. As for .avi files, all files, even the first one, will be unreadable because the header contains information about the filesize. If it doesn't match, it will fail. I recommend using some of the tools specifically designed for these purposes: www.vcdhelp.com
