  1. I have an avi that is too large to burn on a cd-r. After splitting, the Audio and video are out of sync on both parts. I have used virtualdub and avi splitter and the results are the same. What am I doing wrong?

  2. I found a fix myself. I reencoded the file with DrDivx and now when I split it, the audio is in sync.

  3. if brew01 sol has solved your problem then ok. otherwise use a diff splitter like TMPGEnc. Go to "Merge&Cut" option under MPEG tools to split your file. If the avi file is not recognized by TMPGEnc the use AVI splitter from boilsoft.com. It should work.

Prolly VBR audio. Usually creates problems of this kind. Demux audio, reencode to CBR, remux, cut.
