Where I live Faygo is expensive and really hard to find.

I was shocked when I went to Michigan the first time and Faygo was super cheap.

I like Redpop and Peach, but I will drink any Faygo because it's so cheap.

It cost less in Michigan than Safeway Select (a store brand) cost's here.

    Expensive Faygo? That's just absurd.

Anybody ever had Dog 'n' Suds Rootbeer? It's good stuff.

"ARRF & BARF" Good rootbeer. Used to be a drive in/car hop place when I was a kid. I think that even just a few years back there were some still going in the upper midwest. My perception of time may be streching though.

I prefer Worcestershire sauce to A1 Steak sauce and Lea and Perrins Steak Sauce.

I like Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce.

I used to get it when I was in at University of Illinois. I saw online that there were drive-ins but I never got to one.

When I was a young'un we used to canoe down the White river to lake Michigan and eat here. The down side was that after canoeing all day in the summer heat you could chug a gallon of this super sweet stuff. And when you got on that old hot dusty buss to take you back to camp it tended to come back up!

We made rootbeer when I was a kid. Hires extract, I seem to recall. There was another way that actually fermented a little for the grown ups or something. We took some of the good stuff camping one time and got drunker than SHIT!!!! It was awful stuff! I felt sick for a few days but all of my freinds wanted more for the next trip.

I heard that Mountain Dew reduced sperm count over time. After hearing about that I stayed away from it since.

Venors is good....Ohio carries it too, and love it from time to time. Love Barq's and A&W rootbeer, but it seems the taste is better when it comes in a bottle.

AFAIK they don't. Not the "real stuff" but a chemical BBQ extender.

    -edit-

One thing the Amercian's have got down cold is their bbq rib sauce.
Almost as good for ribs as Hoisin chinese sauce is for duck
    - and that's a big complement!

A correction to my comment this morning. Mt. Dew is FLAT Mellow yellow. Not Flash. And Mellow Yellow isn't widely distrubted here either. Though it does turn up in the grocery stores now and again, when it does I buy a bunch. Its good stuff.

    Are you sure about this?

We have Lea and Perrin's Worcestershire sauce and they are the ones who invented it while trying to copy an East Indian sauce.

The are English or from the UK or what ever though.

It was Lord Sandys who discovered it. He imported a sample from India along with the recipe and some ingredients. He went to Lea and Perrin's shop in Worcestershire and asked them to make more.

True Worcestershire sauce you make yourself and
it takes a couple of weeks to come together and mellow. It is like Vanilla. Do you use the factory essence/extract or do you use the pod and seeds? The
true and vastly better vanilla flavoring comes from making it yourself- same idea with Worcestershire sauce.

not quite true - though this story was around for many many years...

according to a privately published history of the Lea & Perrin's firm by a former employee, "No Lord Sandys was ever governor of Bengal, or as far as any records show, ever in India." And according to R.W. Apple, a spokesman at the Lea & Perrin's plant admitted last summer that the long told saga "may not be God's own truth."

Vernor's Ginger Ale is something to die for, with an awesome snap.

However, with Cola, I've always had Coke, except when Coke II was around. At that time I drank Crystal Pepsi. THat was something I really liked, but don't see anymore. Coke II, AKA New Coke, tasted horrible. Coke Classic was what everyone liked in the first place. Pepsi is way too sweet. I remember foreign Exchange students in High school commenting on how it hurt their teeth. I also had a Science teacher make a battery using Pepsi as the Acid, vs coke as the acid. Pepsi blew out the bulb, while coke couldn't get the thing lit high enough. Everyone expected Coke to be the best acid because it had a much stronger carbonation, but Pepsi's was much more acidic in actuality.

Coke still has a ton of Various Flavors of colas available, you just have to find where they are being sold. Even Coke II is still sold in very rural areas, it seems.

    Classic Coke
    Diet Coke
    Caffine Free Coke
    Caffine free diet coke
    Diet Coke with Lemon
    C2
    Diet coke with Lime
    Strawberry Coke
    Vanilla Coke
    Cherry Coke
    Coke II (AKA New Coke)
    Caffine Free Cherry Coke
Rum Coke (Can actually find some small bars where it is already premixed)
    Chocolate Coke
    Grape Coke
    Cream Coke (not vanilla coke)
(and there are many other's where you can search the internet for fan clubs on the various stuff)

Anybody see Crystal Pepsi sold in their area anymore?

I heard it's still made and sold in certain places, though. I wouldn't want those bottles or cans though. THey're a bit old, and I'm sure the flavor has gone stale by now.

    Yes, Vernor's is good stuff.

All cola's contains at least two types of acid.

Carbonic acid a product of carbonation, but very weak acid.

And phosphoric acid a strong acid that is actually added for flavor.

Dr. Pepper also has phosphoric acid, but i don't consider it a cola.

Root beer however does not have phosohoric acid.

Coke hurts my teeth if I drink more than three cans with no ice and no water to rinse my teeth between cans.

Also they do still sell Wild Cherry Pepsi in Seattle.

My favorite Cherry Cola is RC Cherry Cola or Coke with Cherry syrup added not the bottled or canned Cherry Coke which is ok, but not my favorite. Coke with Cherry Syrup is ridiculously sweet, but it's good with ridiculously salty food.
