Hello!
I'm not new at this Encore software, but I can't see the reason of the following situation.
I prepare a project in Adobe Encore 1.5, check it for errors (0 found), preview (works great) and prepare DVD folder.
After this process I'd like to burn it with Nero (DVD-Video option). I've done it several times without any problems - now there is one - when I click BURN! - I get several errors like:
"Backup file 'VIDEO_TS.BUP' should be identical to 'VIDEO_TS.IFO'"
"Backup file 'VTS_01_0.BUP' should be identical to 'VTS_01_0.IFO'"
"Backup file 'VTS_02_0.BUP' should be identical to 'VTS_02_0.IFO'"
....
"Backup file 'VTS_08_0.BUP' should be identical to 'VTS_08_0.IFO'"
DVD-Video files compliance test failed
What is this? It occurs with every, even the simpliest project made in Adobe Encore DVD 1.5.
This error does not show when using for example Ulead DVD Workshop...
When I ignore this error and burn it anyway - both stand-alone DVD-player and PowerDVD can't play burned DVD (this format is not implemented).
Funny thing is, that when I burn the same project directly from Adobe Encore - it works great.
I know that you want to ask a question why to use Nero when direct burning works OK...
The answer is - Nero has a feature that makes all recorded DVD's compatible with most stand-alone players, even older ones...
Any suggestions please?

I get the same error when authoring with DVD ARCHITECT 1.0 but the difference is the resultant disc always plays in a setop. And its not the .IFO's or .BUP's that signal the ARCHITECT's files 'non-compliance'
I notice also that they fixed this in ARCHITECT 2.0
but back to your problem...Try opening each ifo in IFO edit and region-freeing -it,,,, as, this will prompt IFO edit to overwite the .bup files when you attempt to do the same with another IFO, IfO edit will suggest it conform the bup's as welll. after going thru all the project ifo's, I believe this'll fix ENCORE's, COMPLIANCE woes.. -
I did it, and when I tried to save IFO - IFOedit complained about something:
"There's something wrong! The IFO endsector does not match the file size!"
and then saved all BUPs and IFOs with 2KB in size (previous files were bigger) and still not working.
The funny thing is - when I copy the files that were burned directly from Encore on disc, and then when I try to burn them with NERO - I don't get any error and everything is fine, so it seems that something is wrong with Encore's BURN DVD/MAKE DVD FOLDER option...

If you have problem burning DVD from Encore
just make DVD Image, the Encore make IMG file.
And burn image file with DVD Decrypter in ISO WRITE MODE.
