adding subtitle to a VCD (with this workflow)

Hi

This is my workflow converting DVD to VCD. First I copy the DVD to the hard disk using DVDDecrupter. Than using DVD Author I’m extracting the main title back to mpeg2 and burn it as VCD compliant.

Now I want to include subtitle from the original DVD files. Any idea?

Just me or you left out a step or two? Such as converting the mpeg2 to VCD compliant MPEG1 and authoring before burning.

you right...im usimg TMPGen XPress to convert mpeg2 to mpeg1.

Rip the subtitles with VSRip.
Run the mpeg2 through DGIndex.
Create an AVISynth script with the d2v and sub/idx.
Encode the script instead of your mpeg2.

i have 100+ vcd to do..is there any easyer alternative?

No. The sub has to be added into the video.
Unless I missed something, subs cannot be turned on/off on VCD.

no..but i was thinking about application like YASHA DVD to VCD that does it for you. the only reason i dont use it becuse its extremly slow.

Try something like DVD2SVCD then. Should do basically as above but automate it.
