First let me thank all taht have helped me trying to finish this project. But i have another problem...i'm using dvd-lab Pro to make menus and i can't get it to work like i want it. any other program suggestions would also be greatly appreciated.
here's the situation:
I have a small movie that i want to use as the ROOT menu ("menu1). After the "menu1" plays, the scene selection menu("menu2") is brought up. the problem is that "menu2" stays on the screen for less than 2 seconds.
This is waht i want to happen:
1: "menu1" plays. At the end of "menu1", a small button appears that takes the user to "menu2"
2. "menu2" stays on the screen for 60seconds, or until the user selects a scene. If the user does not select a scene, the actual movie starts to play from the beginning.
I really need help guys. i've been working on this for at least the past 6 hours. so frustrated!!!![]()

Can't help but just to let you in on a little secret, multiple images can be placed in a single post. Place the image tags for the first one then submit, hit the edit button and place new tags for the next image then submit, repeat until you have all the images in one post. BTW resizing them down a little usually helps instead of posting full sized screeshots.

In the properties for menu 2, on the PBC tab, set your Duration for 60. Default hilite button 1, Force activate button 1, and button 1 links to the movie start.

I tried what u said reboot, but it didn't work. Can someone set up a time with me that maybe we can do it together on msn or yahoo or aim? i'd really appreciate it. i'm know i'm doing something wrong. My project makes 3 video files when i compile the project. The first video file: video_ts.vob plays something really wiered...i've included the screen shot from that file. i didn't make that in dvd-lab pro. it just shows up. the second file is "menu1" (see first post), and the third file is the actual movie....so where's menu2? that's what i'm having problems with. Menu2 shows up for like 2 seconds, then the actual movie starts.
screen shot from file: video_ts.vob

Okay people...i got something...it seems as though dvd-lab pro is making menu2 part of my menu1 file. any ideas?

Menu 1 is a motion menu that loops.
If it loops indefinitely, you will never get to menu 2 or movie 1. You must have a link on menu 1 that is selected, and can be activated to get to menu 2.
If menu 1 has no default action, it just loops, and nothing else happens.
Go back through my beginners guide, and restart your project again, one step at a time. Compile with dummy movies after each step, and test to see where you're going wrong.Cheers, Jim

Let me thank ALL, especially reboot, for helping me. it seems that i was making a stupid mistake that no one could have fixed but myself. After i complied the numerous(about a hundred) test projects...i would view them in my dvd player in my computer (blazeDVD). the problem was that i was manually importing the video folder that contained the dvd files into blazeDVD.
Well i had an idea to just burn it on a dvd-r and test it in an actual dvd player and bara bing bara boom....everything worked just like it was supposed to
Thank you all so very much!!! -
Cheers, Jim
