I've heard that one & this one before.
A woman get's on the plane and complains that the seats are so small and she's staying on the plane while the people at the next connection get on. She complained about it the whole way to the first stop. The stewardess calmly allows her to change seats to an exit row while they were waiting for the connecting passengers. Once in the air, the lady hits the call button for a stewardess. Nobody comes. She pushes it again, and still nobody comes. She presses it repeatedly to find a stewardess pass her with beverages and do nothing. She finally gets up and goes to the head stewardess and shouts, "Why isn't anyone helping me?"

The stewardess calmly replies, "We only allow 1 carry-on per flight."
I didn't think it was that funny when I heard it, but it fit with BJ_Ms joke.

The problem with the whole scenario is this paragraph:

Why did she do that? It would have been a lot more fun to just leave the summons unanswered ... and let the RIAA "spin its wheels" and go through the courtroom ordeal, only to find out after they'd spent all that money in legal expenses that their target culprit was deceased.

This article will come and go. But if the woman's daughter had just let the RIAA hang themselves publically in court, it would have been a more "enduring" story (and a much bigger embarrassment).

The things people will do to avoid litigation. It's not like there aren't lawyers in hell who'd take the case.

A Recording Industry Association of America spokesman said Thursday that Walton was likely not the smittenedkitten it's searching for.

    So.

The RIAA wants to put an RFID in the IP so they can track and identify the suspectee.

Isn't this whole thing RIP yet?

Nope, because they haven't learned the lesson yet.

You cannot rely solely on IP#'s

That is sad but true. The riaa may say that royalties were not paid so they exume the body and hold it hostage until they get their money.

(On a semi-serious note) They could actually have her estate pay a fine(s) - if they were so inclined. DOn't know if that might be do-able or not, I'm just guessing if that could be done.

In the meantime, getting back to the job at hand ....
We gotta take our hat(z) off for all the fine work everyone has been enjoying so far.

I'd let them keep the body. At worst, the grandmother would haunt them. At best, they have to pay for the upkeep of holding a dead body for ransom. I respect the dead, so I wouldn't disturb the grave, but if anyone else wants to, go ahead. Have at it. It's not like the woman would be a great party person.
