I am having a hard time with out of sych endoding and also general performance of any videos playing on my machine. I have tried encoding with canopus, mainconcept and tmpeg, but mostly the videos are always out of sych. I was wondering if it is possible or a good idea to wipe all the codecs on my machine. If this is the case how would you go it.

Codec Sniper. It'll identify installed codecs and tell you if they're okay. Kill the bad ones and reinstall only those you need, individually and as you need them. Good luck.
