not too sure of this so any advice will be welcome. When i go on some sites & my mail box in msn i can't get in it things as in the bottom left hand corner of the screen I see 'Javascript'. I can't open my mails, on msn, outlook express is fine. I can access sites but not everything on them as 'Javascript' appears and sometimes with letters etc after it. I have done a virus scan, search & destroy and adaware. I have checked properties and all seem fine.
Also i am trying to save documents to cdr/cdrw but keep getting a message telling me the cd is write protected. How do i undo this as I have just bought some new cdr's and they are blank. I have no trouble backing up movies or music files, just word documents.
I know these thing are probably simple, but i can't see the trees for the wood.
    Any one help me out?
    PS
When i point to the smileys it says ' Javascript:emoticon

Actually, Java and Javascript are different creatures. I suspect your problem has to do with either 1) AntiVirus/Spyware Blocker that has turned off VBscript and JavaScript processing (XP SP2?) 2) An actual infection by a virus or a trojan (sounds like you checked for this) or 3) You've turned off Javascript in IE.

Thanks for the reply. I am still having problems, and only on my account. The other members off the family are ok. They can all get there msn emails fine and all other stuff. I am still having problems with 'Javascript'
Full system scan , spybot and adaware don't seem to reveal anything.
I'll keep tweaking and hope for the best
    Cheers
