I have a DVD full of boxing which I recorded from VHS. I want to convert each fight to avi, but obviously each vob doesn't equal each fight. Any ideas as to how I may convert?
I was thinking use a program like Gordian Knot to create one large VOB, the convert that to an AVI using VDubMod, then split the AVi at the start point and end point of each fight. Is this right, is there a quicker way?
Any help is appreciated.

I have not tried Gordian Knot, so I can't comment on it. Assuming you can't capture the VHS tapes directly to your computer (in AVI), this is how I would go about it.
1. Use DVD Decrypter (IFO mode/no file splitting) to rip your DVD to your computer. Then you'll get one large VOB.
2. From there I would use VirtualDubMod as you suggested.
