    Hello, i have Plextor 708a, useing 8x dvd-r Memorex, it burns at 4x. Is this media not as compatible with my dvd writer? I've gone to plextor's website and updated.

    The PLEXTOR 708A drive can not burn 8x speed DVD-R media. If you want 8x speed DVD-R burning you will need to purchase a PLEXTOR 712 or 716A drive. Although you can burn 4x speed DVD+R media @ 8x speed on the 708A drive.
