  1. Ok now I need some help big time..
I have this 4:3 movie, with extern subtitles, perfect playback and everything. Its DivX avi. But, when I convert it in TMPGenc, the final version in my dvd player will get some jerky playback and the image is kinda stretched vertically so half of the subtitles aren't visible on the tv, you know what I mean?
The movie is 23,976 fps, and I use NTSC conversion with Full Screen (Keep Aspect Ratio) like I do with all my other movie convertions. I have tried burning it as PAL, NTSC, NTSC with 3:2 pulldown while playback and 23,976 fps (internall 29..) too but I don't get the perfect playback with perfect fit on the screen. My TV is brand new all of my other convertions work perfectly fine what's the problem here?

    Thanks

Do a forum search for 'overscan', this issue has been covered frequently.

Or you could find a guide on how to create a DVD with seperate subtitles, there are several in the guides section using a number of different tools for you to choose from.
There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those that understand binary...

  3. Thanks, lets say that helped my overscan problem. But how about the framrate/fps? No answer on that question yet

    Thanks

No matter how I do it, all NTSC DVD have a slight regular "jerk" (like every second, most notable during pans). Only way to avoid, is to do a real framerate conversion to 25 fps. I guess it's my player that don't do the NTSC-> PAL conversion properly. I either live with it or do a framerate conversion (somewhat tedious...)
