  1. Greetings all,
    First post here.
Admittedly, a noob when it comes to capture, but this problem seems weird to me.
I have the WinFast TV2000XP Deluxe tuner/capture card.
    I'm running Win2KPro with SP4, Athlon 2800+, 1GB DDR333 RAM, and 3 HDD's (all 7200rpm drives). Graphics card is an Abit Radeon9200SE.
Audio is an M-Audio Delta 1010 (not the lite version, either).
    Here's the 2 part problem...
    1. When I capture something from TV, the file gets saved to HDD in 1GB chunks, even though the option to split files is NOT checked.
    2. The first file (and sometimes the second and third ones) has audio, but all subsequent files from the same recording pass do not.
Oh, and yes, I've downloaded the most recent drivers, too.
    Anyone got any ideas?
    Cheers,
    Bruce.

What program are you using to capture?

  3. The WinFast PVR software which came with the card.
I did download VirtualVCR late last night, and I fiddled with it for 20 minutes or so, but I was too tired to make much headway with it. I will persevere, though.
    Cheers,
    Bruce.

Had same card for a while in similar PC. Use Virtual VCR if you are capping to .avi. Much better program. Don't know if it let's you cap to mpeg.

As far as file size. No clue but I do know the Winfast software is buggy if not installed correctly... and even if it is .

  5. Mmmm, maybe a complete removal and reinstall is in order?

What exactly are your settings? Which profile are you using. There is an auto split for the DVD profile. I use this program and card and it works fine. So it is possible.

I've tried a both the 'DVD' and the 'MPEG2-normal' profiles so far. Will experiment further.
How exactly does the 'audio spilt' function work in the 'DVD' profile? Although I'm keen to hear your thoughts, it seems strange that it would save audio+picture for n clips, then suddenly just capture picture but no audio. This morning, before I left for work, I had a quick listen to some stuff I'd capped overnight, and the first 4 clips had audio, the last 2 didn't!
I checked the Delta1010 too, just to make sure that it wasn't a case of the audio card somehow muting the inputs, but that doesn't appear to be it either.
Anyway, keep those suggestions coming... I'm keen to get to the bottom of this.
    Cheers,
    Bruce.

If you select the dvd profile and then clcik on profile settings, you will see a check box for auto split for burning. This is what I am talking about. Uncheck this if you want to capture in larger files. I always capture to picvideo avi. This makes much larger files to start, but then I can easily edit and then convert to mpeg with either tmpenc or cce. Yo will get better quality this way, too.
