    Hi Next and Energy80s,

it seems that we all have the same problem... my MOBO is an ASUS A7Pro, which has a KT133 chipset... something tells me that Next is right... If so, I will not use it for a while....

    Thanks Next,

  2. Well actually I don't think its hardware related. I did at first but I've got it running on 2 kt133's now. I think there is some sort of hardware/software check during the MMC 7.5 install but I can't figure out what it is looking for. It installed on 3 out of 4 boxes just fine. 2 AIW 128 pros and a 128 vivo. Could not get it to go on the 3rd aiw 128 pro until I did a ghost image of one of the other boxes and forced the image on the one that was having problems. Everything works fine now.

I installed 7.5 over 7.1 for an AIW 128 on a P3-800. I can capture with <1% frame drops using the default DVD high, or any other template resolution/bit rate. Looks great. Amazing. SVCD resolution/bit rate (I modified the DVD template) captured perfectly and looked excellent. HOWEVER, I only get this performance with the pre-set templates that have all 1's in the options. (Does anyone know what that is doing?) If I use or make templates with actual settings, I get no performance increase.

  7. Nitany I tried it last night on my TV Wonder by uninstalling the 7.1 MMC and then installing the 7.5
but when I got done I had NO tv..it just wasn't there anymore so I'm puting the 7.1 back in.Might work just overinstalling it,I don't know, you might want to try..if you do let me know if it worked.

  8. To get 7.5 to work you must have Web Tv for windows installed.
To do this go into your Control Panel click on Add/Remove Programs, click the Windows Setup tab and scroll to the bottom and make sure Web Tv for windows is clicked, then apply and reboot.
Should fix some of the "tv not working" problems.

  10. Have any of you that are having recognition problems tried using the ATI wrapper? (search the forum and download it) There is no real reason it should help but I am running 7.5 on my rig just fine (win98, RAdeon AIW) and I have the wrapper installed. You may want to try it just for shits and giggles. I would also HIGHLY suggest uninstalling 7.1 and taking out all ATI references in the registry BEFORE installing 7.5. That is what worked for me. You also all might want to try downloading either the latest drivers, the leaked drivers (rage3d.com), or the Omega drivers (that is what I am running) before you install 7.5. And one more thing...I'm an idiot...you HAVE to have Direct x 8.0a or better and the video add on for it to function. I guarantee that is 90% of everyone who can't get it work's problem. Try that FIRST.

  11. I usually use VirtualDub for all my captures and haven't used MMC with my Rage Fury Pro vivo for some time now, but one feature has me interested with 7.5. What version of Windows Media does it support? Can it create version 8 .wmv files?? If so, I'm definately checking that out!

  12. bkorponay,

I do believe they are w8 .wmv captures. I have switched to this format and I think the caps look great! They are only 900KB for each 10 sec clip and near divx quality. If you don't believe me try it!

Does anyone have a copy of the new guideplus. When I use the old version to capture mmc7.5 renames the file under a different name. Not a big deal but it is annoying.

Don't pay attention to my username I choose that before I installed mmc7.5

What's this "Omega" drivers?... Where can they be found?

I'm thinking maybe that's why some of us are experiencing a quality drop with 7.5, MAYBE... it could be it's written for a new driver release, which isn't out yet...

I personally can deal with 7.5 IF I can work around the driver problem and IF I can keep from dropping frames (which messes up the "3:2" Pulldown captures seriously).

Somewhat related question for experts: If i did get the 3:2 pulldown capture mode to work, and if it's capturing with a 3:2 pulldown flag added to it, what if I re-encode? Do I simply run it through DVD2AVI as "Forced FILM" and that's that?

AIGH! I found the "Omega" drivers... they are seriously bad news... it renders MMC useless! I tried installing both before and after... MMC can't find the capture drivers when you install the Omega drivers...

I tried the Rade3d.com "leaked" ones... they did finally work, but it took me 3 tries to get MMC 7.5 working again...
