multiplex problem

when i use the tmpgenc to join the m2v and ac3, the mpg turn out laggy.
the beginning of the video was fine but a minute later, it starts to skip. is it because my computer can't handle it or is it the files problem?

i'm running a 1.4 ghz winxp

another question. is it possible to add in subtitles to the mpg file before burning to dvd?

I can't speak for the subs part but why don't you try BBMPEG for multiplexing? It's not recommended much for encoding but it's a great mux tool IMO.
