First, Hi I am new to the forum. I was recommended by a guy from the Pacific Digital Technical Dept. I have a Pacific Digital U-30202, as stated, and am using an Orange Micro USB 2.0 to go with my burner (he too recommended this USB). I originally had a Belkin 2.0 USB, but the same guy said they have been having capadibility issues. I use DVD X-Copy, but also have the latest Nero, which I am trying to figure out how to work. All in all, it still takes about an hour to read the disc and another 1.5 hrs+ to write. Plus, not all of my back ups work, and, if they do, most become very choppy at the end. Is it my discs, which are Verbatim DVD-R 8X, or something else that I am overlooking? I do not think it is my computer. I have a Dell Optiplex 1.6 Ghz with over 500 MB Ram (I am at work so I do not know the exact amount off hand). Thanks in advance.

You need to go into a bit more detail here.

But if I amy suggest something, you might get dvd decrypter and dvd shrink. Use those 2 programs with Nero, and you will be on the same page as more of the more experienced users here.

It should not take hours to back up a disc. Please give details on your computer, Pent 4, Win XP, etc.

My Dell has a P4, XP, over 500 MB Ram, Radeon Video Card... Not sure if I have stated more or not enough of what you are looking for. Question, where can I get the decryptor and shrink?

You can get DvdDecrypter and a guide on how to use it here.

Choppy playback at the end of a dvd is most commonly linked with bad media.
You will find this site has the answers to just about anything you want to know. The quickest way to find an answer is to use the Search link on the left side of this page (under "Other").
