Hallo, Im having this problem for the past few months after I got into making homemade movies.
I capture and edit my videos using Premiere 6.5. Then I export the movies with a AVI DV format which looks good. Now heres my problem. I then take the file and put it in the NeroExpress dvd maker and burn it. The quality of the dvd is about 50 percent of what the original dv tape and the AVI DV was. When i go to custom setting and changed the bitrate from automatic (which is 5,000 give or take ) to high quality which is 1072+- the video skips all over. Does anyone know what causes this poor quality? And can anyone tell me what other programs are out there to burn DVDs uncompressed because i dont care about movie lenght just high quality. Thank you in advance

Use a better mpeg2 dvd encoder, https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=743#743

Try exporting from premiere using MPEG2 rather than AVI. This export operation may seem to take forever, but that is a good thing. Its MPEG2 encoder is MUCH better quality than the one in nero. MPEG2 compression must be used for DVD, the max allowable bit rate is about 9000. Home footage does best at the max bit rate due to all the hand held camcorder motion in the footage. If you know what you doing, you should be able to write the exported file to DVD using nero express without any problem. Research the guides listed here, you will probably find everying you need to know. Good Luck.

Thanks for the advice........but theres another problem. No matter what I export the video as in premiere or tmpgenc once I import the video to nero it uses it own encoding tool. Lets say after I use tmpgnec the file is about 600mb and once I import it to nero it transcodes it to about 130 mb which then looks like crap. Is there any way to just import the files to nero without having nero mess with the files just burn them???
