Can anyone help?
I am having lots of trouble with my Panasonic DMR-E55 when using the timer to record to DVD-R discs.
I cannot get it to work reliably.
I work away from home and leave the machine all set to go, red clock symbol lit, times confirmed, blank disc in place.
I come home and find the clock symbol gone, but nothing recorded.
It may be displaying an error message but I'm not there to see it!
I have tried a couple of timed recordings whilst at home - and of course it works fine!
My last effort involved manually recording for a couple of minutes to the disc to confirm that the media was OK - I then set the timer and left it to record.
Once again no recording took place, but on switching the unit on the message 'disc full' was displayed.
It was set to record two 52 minute programs in SP mode so there should have been plenty of disc space.
I feel it may be a media issue - but if so why can I record manually to a disc and it then fails on timer?
HELP!!!

Ghosts. You can get rid of those by unplugging an appliance for a minute & plug back in.
What media are you using?
Try some dvddram disks. -
Ghosts? Please explain ...
I am using Datawrite Premium 4x inkjet printable.
It has been suggested that Verbatim may be a better bet, but they don't seem to do a 4x printable disc.
I will try DVD-RAM - good suggestion.
