  1. I just backed up my movie "Ray" with Jamie Fox and I used DVD Decryptor and DVD Shrink. The movie froze about 30 min into playing it. When playing the original I know that there is an Option that asks if you want to watch the Theatrical version or extended scenes. When watching in Theatrical, little music notes pop up on the bottom left of the screen just in case you want to see the extended scenes. This is kinda like on the Matrix DVD with the white rabbit image. When bacing up the movie, I used the reauthor mode in Shrink dragging only the movie section over. There were two of them showing and both had identical size and lengthh of time. Could anyone tell me what could have gone wrong and how to fix this problem?

  2. dont know about shrink, but using dvd decrypter and dvd2one,i picked just one of the 2 streams it showed me and all was well.
kinda like T2,that gave me about 4 different titles to pick from ,and i picked the longest one, with the extra like 30 ins in and that worked too.
is the film stopping where one of the notes should appear or a completely different section?

  4. It is due for release tomorrow in the USA. However, in my experience, some shops will release DVDs a couple of days early especially online stores that dispatch them to ensure they arrive by the release date. www.play.com do this.

  8. Different problem, same movie. Were you able to rip the DVD fine? I got RAY tonight and tried ripping it with no luck. Keep getting an error with Smart Ripper and DVD Decrypter. Is anyone else having a problem just ripping it? Ripped other movies after it fine!

  10. Worked for me, shrink & convert rest to still pics. But you won't be able to watch those extra scenes as those get made into still pics.

  11. I got it working! I tried it on another computer with just a DVD Rom and it ripped fine. Weird because it's ripped everything else fine still till now and when I was burning it onto DVD-R, I got the same error on one of the disks. That was weird. Either something wrong with the movie or DVD Writer. Hoping it's the latter.

  12. Here is the deal. With Ray WS, there are a few bad lots, poor quality control. These wont work, they die somewhere in the chapter titled "Junkie." Exchange it if you can most of the lots are fine, o/w send it back to the studio.

Also if you want to backup the extended features I THINK you need the full screen version. The reason is that the new scenes are in full screen, even in the WS version. This means that they have the scenes in different titles. Besides causing some problems with it skipping back and forth, it makes it, (to the best of my knowledge) impossible to rip. I am guessing with the full screen version, everything is one title, so no problems.

If anybody could confirm what I wrote in the second paragraph, it would be much appreciated. The first paragraph is confirmed.

  13. Wow, the studios sure are serious about getting DVDs out before Oscar voting ends on Feb. 22.

  14. I burned a second copy and gave it to my brother in-law to watch. The movie was ok but not worth it for me to watch a second time and catch the freezing glitches I got on the first copy I did. Once he gets back to me I'll make another post. I got the movie on Saturday at Blockbuster before it was released on Tuesday because the Manager there likes me. I'm in his store everyday renting movies. That will come in handy for up coming movies. Thaks for the replies!
