    how should i force virtualdub mod to make italic subs italic as i am hardsubing the movie. it makes italic text as normal but keeps marks as [/i] in front and back of the text. how to get real italic text ?

    ...by using a filter that do support italics in the subtitle format you're using.
    So: What filter have you tried? What's the format of your subs?

    Textsub 2.18 as filter; subs ar in srt and/or sub format...

    Try using textsub (part of VSFilter).

    vobsub 2.23 -> texsub.vdf did it! i was using elder version 2.18 that couldnt manage italics...
