TV tuner card on PC and record TV program directly to miniDV

anybody try to use TV tuner card on PC and record TV program directly to miniDV camcorder going through PC out through 1394 to camcorder in real time? possible? or need to capture to PC harddrive then later send to miniDV camcorder?

I don't think you could do a real time capture that way, but you could probably do it if you captured to the harddrive first. But why do you want to do this? If your minidv camcorder has a line in it would be easier to do it thiw way. Line out from the cablebox (or other) to minidv.

you're probably right. not real time. hard drive first. camera has no video input except firewire. Pan PVDV401. I was just trying to think of creative ways to record high quality TV without filling hardrive (could buy a D-VCR but want to wait for DVDrec to become the norm or cheaper). only have 20G right now. thanks for reply!
