    Hi,
I am creating some training VCD's with avi files but need to stick powerpoint in the middle of the video. The powerpoint files are originals that go alonw with the demonstrations. For example, there may be 3 minutes of videos and then need to include 3 powerpoint slides that provide written explanation and then 5 or 6 minutes of video followed by the PowerPoint slides. I know there may be other ways to do this but my boss wants to use the PowerPoint file because it is already created. I am hoping to get the vcd or dvd player to pause when the PP slides come up until the user prompts the player to move to the next slide or to move to the next section of video. Any ideas? I use Ulead movie studio to author the VCD's. I will be changing soon as I learn how more about the various tools available.

I haven't tried them, but there are a few programs @ http://www.download.com that might do the trick. ACA Capture Pro came up high on the list when I did a search, and it's fairly inexpensive.

Good Luck, and Gung Xi Hay Fat Chye!

Thanks! What words did you search on? Does anyone know of any freeware that will do this?

I know that VCDeasy will let you put still pics in a VCD file.

I used "powerpoint" & "avi" I'm sure there are other searches that will work. Many programs offer free trial periods, maybe this will be good enough for your project.

If you can get screen captures, you could put them in VCDEasy.
