I like to create custom DVD artwork to print onto my DVD's with the R200. The problem is you can't use image transparency from photoshop to arrange them in the disc printing utility....at least I couldn't. By that I mean, if I had a cutout of an image that has a transparent background, the transparency wasn't saved when using it in the print util...they had white backgrounds. Annoying.

I found using the one template posted around here didn't work so hot b/c I use hub printables and the template does not take that into consideration. The hole in the middle is too big.

What I do is create a new document the is 122mm by 122mm with 300 resolution and make my artwork as I want it to appear on the disc, text included. The catch is, I have to guess where the middle is where the hole will be but it's not that hard. When you save the file and open it in the PrintCD s/w it is usually lined right up.

That's the other problem I had, was the tediousness of scaling the background and aligning it properly so you had full coverage.

Maybe this is something you all figured out a while ago, but I had no idea. I have made some cool crap for my DVD's this way.

I am using Ritek G05 8x hub printables with 22mm inner/119mm outer and I'm very happy with the results.

Let me know if this is an obvious way to do this and I am, in fact, insane.

**Edit - I made a template that seems to work fine. I don't know where to put it so you can snag it if you want. Any ideas for this problem are welcomed. **
