dmr-e55 video cam procedure

In my quest to solve this menu writing problem with the e55, I am trying two different paths; one try different media, the other to see if I have a bad setup or process.
Can anyone enlighten me with their procedure for recording on the Panasonic DMR-E55 from a video camera?
For example, these are my steps/setup:
1) Antenna but no cable hooked up to RF input and Antenna System in Setup set to TV.
2) Analog video camera going in to Line 2 inputs. (nothing in to line 1 or line 3 input)
3) I then press record on the e55 and press play on the camera
4) When recording complete, I press stop on the camera, stop on the e55 (no particular order).
5) When it's done writing, I edit the chapter title through the DirectNavigator submenu (just one chapter typically) and usually just delete the default date chapter title and leave it blank.
6) I then go to Functions and edit the title.
7) In the same menu, I then Finalize the disc.
That's it. Is there anything anybody is doing differently or a different setup?

You can also put on a dvdram disk & edit & add cool menus on your PC.
