I think the Fujifilm 8x printable DVD-R is all ProdiscF01. All the spindles I've ever seen are made in Taiwan.

  4. Budz,

How can you say that when you are a newegg.com whore! You Two-Timing Little Slut!

Two-Timing Little Slut meet Cheap-A$$ Basturd, who wanted to save $13 bucks (after shipping), plus get Hub printables. You get what you pay for, I guess.

    Gen-An,

That is what I was afraid of. As far as I know, TY does not have any Silver Inkjet Hub printables yet, only White. But if I am mistaken, please point me in the right direction.

Any leads on sales for Quality Silver Inkjet Printables (hub or otherwise)?

    Thanks!

    J.T.

  7. Budz,

I am glad the joke was not lost on you, as it may have been for others.

The DVD8631 is a new burner for me, so I am not sure of its limitations. Plus the fact that there have been several problems with this drive mentioned on the Dell forum. This is why I want to eliminate the media as a factor for any such issues. I am hoping TY's rep. for compatibility will hold true for this unit.

Thanks for the info on Rima.com, I will give them a try.

    Have a Party-Hearty Weekend!

Is your dvd burner a PHILIPS? What dell pc do you have? I am inquiring because my cousin just bought a dell 8400 and he told me his dvd burner is a Philips. Check out the BENQ/PHILPS FORUM at cdfreaks.com. I think the philips drive can be cross flashed with BENQ firmware.

  9. Budz,

Yeah, it is a Philips DVD8631. I was reading that it can be Flashed to a BenQ 1620, which would raise it from 8x DVD-R, 2.4x DVD+RDL to 16x DVD-R, 4x DVD+RDL. A very significant improvement, but I am concerned about voiding the warranty on my new Dell Dimension XPS Gen4.

Can it be flashed back to a Philips, if necessary?

I'm not sure about that. I do know one can flash back a "B" firmware to the "G" firmware which is a OEM 1620 drive. Try posting your question at the BENQ/PHILIPS FORUM at cdfreaks.com. There are people there that could answer your question.
