foreign dvd recorder

the dvd recorder i have can only input english for disc and track title. i was wondering if the asian version (particularly hk version) will allow me to enter traditional chinese characters for disc and track title or not.

i know with vhs, asia uses pal and north american uses ntsc. does dvd recorder have such thing as pal and ntsc?

Korea, Japan, and Taiwan use NTSC.
