  1. I got the drivers loaded divix 5.02 and Lame. But each time I attempt to make a divx from a dvd I get a stack dump in the kernal or sometimes the mp4 vxd or just a blue screen. Tried reinstalling all in various order. I used the guide and made the settings the same. Did anyone have simmilar trouble with DVDx and work through it. I am a noob but have been making VCD using VCDeasy for some time now with no trouble.

    Hello,

If you can't seem to get dvdx working there are plenty of other dvd-vcd tools out there:

    DVD to VCD

Found in the tools section under "LISTS" on the left of the screen <-------

    Kevin
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

  3. Thanks Kevin for the get back,
I am mostly interested in DVD to DIVX conversion because it is so clear and the file size is small. My second reason for wanting divx is that I have a friend with an ARCOs multimedia drive and I wanted to find a one step DVD to Divx converter so he can watch movies in the car or plane. The info on DVDx looked realy good and Free!
Currently he has to make an AVI file or MPG then convert to divx. I am wondering if someone is using DVDx ver 2.3 with Divx 5.02 codec and Lame mp3 ver 3.92 in combination with good results or should I try other combinations of video and audio codecs to get DVDx to work. It probably seems kind of stuburn to try to fix the DVDx so I am open to other one step DVD to divix converters, any suggestions of good ones.
