avcd --> dat files to wav or mp3

does anyone know how i can convert dat files on an avcd (audio-vcd)
to wavs or mp3s
this cd has one video on it and ten songs, so that the songs are
all in dat format as well, and virtualdub can't read them
i want to get the songs in mp3 format so that i can listen to them
on my pc without having to get the cd out all the time

any help please

I'd have to say thatI've never tried, but chances are those files are in MP2 format, rename them to that and try to open in winamp. If that works then all you need to do is decode them to wav (use scmpx) then convert to mp3.
