some drives have a Master / Single Drive setting and Master in a 2 drive configuration. Check your and if so make sure the "master" drive is jumpered correctly for a Master in a 2 drive config.

Ensure HD Master is at the END of the IDE and the HD SLAVE in the middle...the end position has priority......(honest..its true).
And check your BIOS is booting the correct HDD first. -
You know that BBCode does not work in subject lines? No reason your question should be any more important than any other one...
As Ripper and Monzie say, check your hard drive is Master and the other is Slave. Ensure the boot order in BIOS is:
1 - Floppy
2 - CD-ROM
3 - HDD-0 (not HDD-1)

Cobra,
That is not a good sequence unless you boot from CD-ROM on occassion.
You will get stuck on a reboot if you leave a setup disk in the drive, "non-bootable drive" if you leave your Norton disk in the drive..

George,
You're right - I do occasionally do that by accident, but it is more convenient than having to change the boot order in BIOS to CD first then back again every time you want to boot from CD.
It's just personal preferance, I suppose. Some people would prefer it one way, other people prefer it the other way.
