i have a file in m2v format.. how can i rip just the audio from the video?

.M2V is MPEG-2 video,.MP2 is MPEG-1 audio,.MPG is video and audio combined.
Use AVICodec or GSpot to see if there's any audio,if there is audio then use TMPGEnc or VirtualDub to extract.Another simple test is to rename the file .MPG and play it.
