  1. When captureing with Vegas 5, it reports the # of dropped frames as it goes along.

But when You stop the capture the # of dropped frames dissapears and just says dropped frames reported.

This is a problem if I try a timed capture and am not around to see how many dropped frames during the capture.

    So My question is:
Is there a way to retrieve the # of dropped frame information from Vegas after a timed capture?

Why do you ned to ask this question? Why is this in the DV forum? DV transfer doesn't drop frames unless your system is particularly sick. If you are dropping frames, I suggest you cure that first. Then you'll have no need for the dropped frames counter.

  3. This is in the DV forum becuase I'm tranferring DV.
Guess it could of gone in some other forum, but wasn't sure where. Any suggestions?

I'm using my DV cam as a passthrough for Old VHS tapes.
For your info, DV can still drop frames if source tapes are bad in certain areas, or during recording transitions(where VHS cam would start recording at various positions on the tape).
This of course has nothing to do with my system.

I ask because I'm curious, and I thought maybe there was someone that uses Vegas to capture and might understand and give me insight to what I'm talking about. Can I live without the answer, yes. But if it's something simple, I would like to know.

Thanks for the Condescending post thougth.

I didn't mean to be condescending, maybe I'm suffering from reading too many noob posts....

The fact you were talking about capture (and not transfer) and timed capture at that, made me think you were capturing live broadcast TV and not DV. Yes, I agree, you do get dropped frames when capturing VHS from dodgy tapes. I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your question though as I don't use Vegas.
