  1. Here are the specs on the .mov am trying to convert to avi-

    640x480
    15 FPS
    7.6kb/s AUDIO
    428.8KB / Sec Video

I have tried EO video converter, but when I try the files back in Quick time player they stutter.

    Same problem Tmpenc Express.

The question is, I want to keep the EXACT same quality in the conversion and think .avi is the way to go, but don't know what to set the output settings to. The final goal is a dvd disc.

Do I output to 30 fps .avi ? What about other audio, video settings?

    any advice appreciated.

quicktime is crap for playing mpeg - even if you get their mepg plug in (which you would have to) ...

tmpgenc , main concept or procoder will resize your material and double the frames for ntsc ..

just pick one and use it .....

the end quality not going to be great - but usable ..

you might want to not resize it up - but just add borders ... will look better a bit - though aspect ratio will be off a little ...
