While on top of the lack of discipline, you have kids attacking teachers in schools today, something unheard of in my day. Hell, they used to use the "board of education" on us - get sent to the Dean's office and get 1 - 5 "whacks" if you cause trouble. That's what they need today, but can you imagine the uproar if they still did this? The dean's would all be in jail for child 'abuse'. Waaaaa.

Meanwhile, these stats from today's paper tell you what our good friend Northcat is up against. I don't know how you do it, Northie, but my hats off to you for the job you do.

It'd be kind of illegal, but a funny thing to get kids to set straight would be to have a side desk with a dummy in it, like the CPR dummy. Wait for the kids to come to class. Start teaching. If the kids misbehave, you go to your desk, quickly pull out your 45 and fire 3 shots at the dummy. Put the gun slowly back into the desk, and then turn to the class and say, "I would like your attention please." I am most certain you will never have to do that again, and every kid will pay attention and listen to everything you have to say, for the rest of their lives.
