I've now had my Ilo dvdr04 for nearly 3 weeks and everything seems to be working perfectly. I've made a dozen or so vhs copies that came out good. I've also made backup copies of at least 10 dvds that I own. I believe in giving something a workout to see how well it will hold up. My other dvd recorder, (Cyberhome 1500 model) is now laid to rest under my bed. Has anyone had the Ilo dvdr04 model for quite awhile? And if so, how well is it holding up? Right now I don't see any reason to think I'll have any problems with it but my Cyberhome dvd recorder has made me a bit skeptical about trusting the durability of any dvd recorder.

I've been using it for a month now as well, I'm like you I have no problems with it. In fact I'm very happy with it, except for the background noise from the front inputs. Does yours have that? I've made maybe 30 or so dvds so far, most of them on EP mode, and the dvd media compatabilty is great. I use Memorex and Maxell dvd+r/rw media and its never given me a problem

Yep!! I hear a high pitched noise from the front av jacks when I'm recording from them. I have my RCA dvd player hooked up to them so I can make back-up copies of some of my other dvds. It's not too awfully annoying though. I don't like the tuner though. It hums and puts noise bars on my screen when recording some channels. But if I'm recording something really important , I'll just go ahead and use my vcr tuner. I have my vcr plugged into the av2 jacks in the back. I also have been using memorex dvd+rw and maxell dvd+r media with no problems. For 149.00 at Walmart, it's been well worth the money.

I've had mine since Oct 2004 and it's been problem free.

They also have links to official and hacked firmware.

  7. I've seen some pre-owned ILO DVD recorders go for less than $100 on eBay recently... that is really a great deal, even if you are trying out a DVD recorder just for grins! I guess that makes the old VCR just about extinct now.

  8. I've had mine for about two months and have upgraded the firmware. I haven't had a problem.

    I'm entirely satisfied with it.
