skipping disc

I've tried lookin thru posts on topic,but guess didnt find..I've been having problems with movie freezing up(snapshot effect during replay. I've tried burning movie at 1x(eventhough,dvdwriter is 8x),I've been using memorex 8x dvdr disc...
I use my laptops dvd player to read movies,then use an external dvdwriter to burn..

Put your specs in your user profile so we know what burner you're using, etc.

Get DVDInfoPro, check the media code of your discs.

Search some more, there's probably 500 threads on the subject of skipping and freezing of discs.

far as media codes; what am I looking for? under media informatioin it has a blank.

at bottom of screen has complete media code;3 rows of mainly zeros
