I am wasting so many cd's... I have tried Roxio 5 VCD creator and Nero everything seems to run fine. I created a little slide show with pics and music. saved as mpeg and then ran it through TMPGE encoder using the NTSC standard format ( US ). Hell the file is only 16 mb. When I try to play on my DVD ( Philips 815 which has played a VCD before ) it will not run, it says to check disk. I even tried to use a music video still the same results. I am using 80mm Fujifilm blanks if that makes any difference and burning on an HP 9100 and using XP. I really want to make this slide show for my wife as a Christmas present. Any help would be great

When I look at the compatibility chart (available on the left menu) your DVD player will only work if you burn onto CD-RWs. I would suggest burning what you want to play onto a CD-RW (Memorex high speed platinum worked for me) and test it. I would be willing to bet it is a media problem.

Alrighty then... I can't read. I tried with a Cd-RW and Poof.. It worked. Now the next problem.. I am just trying to make a slide show with .jpgs and a back ground song. when I play back on the DVD / Tv the show comes across full sceeen which makes the pictures real " blocky " and I am getting popping sounds from the audio. What settings do i need to adjust to 1. clear up audio 2. not be full screen so the images are clearer. Thanks in advance

To make your pix not to be full screen. You can by using picture editiing software, I suggest photoshop or whatever you have. Create new background at resolution 704x480 with black or white or etc color. Then paste your pix into this background, now you can adjust your pix to be biger or smaller. Save it as "bmp". In TMPGenc don't forget to enter source aspect ratio to be NTSC 704x480.
For audio, I'm not sure what is your audio source. But if you use mp3 or whatever I think you should convert to wave audio at 44.1 KHz first then load wave file as your audio source in TMPGenc.
