  4. When I burn DVD's, I never burn at a speed over 8X, and knock on wood, since upgrading my burner from an HP dvd 200i to a Pioneer DVR-A08XL, I have not had one failed disc. One thing is for sure, the faster you burn a disc, the greater the chance you have of creating a coaster. That is just the hard facts. The question is, do you want to take a chance at ruining 6 or 8 DVD-R's to write at 16X or just wait a little longer for the thing to burn and have it work like it is supposed to.

    I was constantly having problems with that HP from the day I got it. But I love the Pioneer.
