  1. I am going to be traveling soon. I have been using ffmpegX to backup movie for myself and take them on my computer with me on trips. It really makes the movie watching much easier, since you don't have to carry around a big collection of movies...

I bought the Forgotten DVD, which I really like. Unfortunately something is going on with this DVD. When I insert the DVD OSEx quits all the sudden. When I try to re-launch it, it shows up in the Dowck, then disappears.

When I eject the DVD, OSEx works just fine again. I tried on a different computer, I tried on restarting... nothing helped this. Does anyone know what might be going on here?

    Thanks,

  2. I don't. But I suggest you play the dvd in dvd player first, and try again. Otherwise, try MacTheRipper or DVDBackup.

  3. And can you use MacTheRipper to create a single VOB file just as OSEx does?

  4. DaleMox: after some researching I got MacTheRipper working. Thank you very much for suggesting it. I am backing it up as we speak and I can leave tomorrow without dragging the DVD with me...

  5. Yes, if you select title and chapter markers, or complete titles. Make sure you check the mode. Also if you get multiple .VOB files then you can run "cat COUSIN_MARRIAGE/*.vob > CousinMarriage.vob" in the terminal (with the appropriate names.
