After tryign to remove sticky labels off of some DVD's, i have found a great way to do this without damaging the disc.
1. Soak dvd in warm water and soap mixture for about 1 hour.
2. Scrape off the labe las much as you can with you finger nail or anythign else that is not too hard.
3. The residue left on the disc can be cleaned off with Rosinol lighter fluid. The type used to fill up zipo lighters. This stuff is great. It takes off the glue and does not damage the disc. I used Goo Off and if it gets on the undeside of the disc, it melts the plastic on the recordable surface. Ths lighter fluid can be actually used ot clean off the underside of the disc with no damage to it. Just don't smoke while you are doing this LOL.

I use wd-40.
Spray it on the label and let sit for an hour.
Label lifts off easily and takes the adhesive
with it.
I don,t lable any more.

Nice on the WD-40. I am surprised it does not damage the disc. Someone said to use Goo-off, but the problem is if it get on the bottom of the disc, it ruins it. The Rosinol lighter fluid does not dmaga it at all and actually is as good a cleaner as alcohol. Thanks for the heads up on the WD-40 though.
