  1. Hi All,

I was trying to use TMPGEnc to convert AVI file to MPEG2, the TMPGEnc gave me two output files, one for video, the other for audio.

And I tried to use MPEG tools to multiplex the two files into one single MPEG2 file, I got a error message saying linear PCM stream is not support to system stream, what is that?

I used TMPGEnc before to convert AVI to MPEG1 for VCD, the output was only one single MPEG1 file.

How can I get one single output MPEG2 file from TMPGEnc? Thanks a lot.

Use your video + audio files as sources for your DVD authoring app - most accept elementary streams - some even require it.

If you need to mux the streams, you could always convert the wav to mp2 and mux using the mpeg tools in TMPGEnc. This will also probably save quite a bit of space. You could also convert to AC3 and use that in your authoring program. Besweet if a very good tool for converting audio.

  4. Thanks for your reply.

I use Nero to burn DVD, actually it only requires one mpeg2 file for the job.

Is there any setting in the TMPGEnc I can change in order to output one single mpeg2 file instead of two indiviual video and audio files?

I was thinking to buy the TMPGEnc, I hope I can get it solved before I make the decision.

If you are using the Project Wizard, you could just select MPEG-1 layer II audio and you will be able to get one mpg file.

In the wizard I'm pretty sure there's a tickbox which says something like "output as elementary streams" - untick this. If you're not using the wizard, change the stream output from ES (Video + Audio) to System (Video + Audio) and this will create one MPEG file for you. Also, PCM WAV audio is a massive waste of space IMO - I'd convert your video using TMPGEnc to a M2V file, then convert audio to AC3 or MP2 using ffmpeggui, then you can multiplex these together using MPEG Tools in TMPGEnc if need be, or just import straight into your authoring software as is.
    If in doubt, Google it.
