  1. After installing nero 6 (latest version) and service pack 2 for xp pro. I get the message. Please install burn rights blah blah blah. Well I did and set it to allow everyone to burn because I built this pc and besides my wife I am the only one to use it. Wel I still get the message to ask administrator to set burn rights so you can burn cds message. Now although it says I'm the admin. When I log into safe mode I can pick the "other admin account and everything works fine. But that admin account is only accessable through safe mode. If you understand. Any suggestions.

  3. I did with no success. All It says now is to have your admin to allow you to burn cds. Nero burn rights is on this sytem. Access it through the control panel. Also read the last of my post.

Have you setup the groups in Control Panel? Or have you tried that as well. Next step I would email Ahead to ask them about the issue.

  5. As Far as setting up groups what do you mean? Setting up groups using the burning rights program----Selected the allow all tab. Or is there another way to setup groups?

    Hi there,

Forgive me if you know this already, but from the above post it looks like you may not.

If you want to access the original administrator account, without using safe mode:

    Log out of Windows
While at the please choose your user account to login, Hit the CTRL-ALT-DEL keys twice
This should bring up the original Windows login screen.
From here, you should be able to log on as Administrator

As to why Nero keeps pestering for admin rights, might I suggest a reinstall of Nero? I just upgraded to Nero 6.6 and during the install, I vaguely remember a check box asking who should have access to nero(At least I think it was Nero, I was doing multiple reinstalls of software), just the user doing the install, or everyone on the computer. Make sure that the everyone user is checked.

    Hope this helps some.

  7. Ok now worse......Well I tried uninstalling all my burning softwar(dvd shrink, dvd decrypter, dvd xcopy and nero) and reinstalling. Before and after install my dvd burner isn't working properly. If I do a fresh boot, I can place a disk in and it will recognize it and sometimes it will open. Now if I take that disk out and put any other disk in....it doesnt refresh itself to show the new disk(if ya know what Im sayin). Also I get an error that says either the disk is corrupt or not in a format that windows recognizes. Well I uninstalled service pack 2 through the control panel and even disconnected my drive and reinstalled it.. No good. Did a system restore but that doesnt work. When I do a fresh boot, my dvd decrypter works but just like my dvd drive it stops after you take the first disk out. After that it says no devices found!!! Can you guys elaborate? It is an I/O magic dual format burner that is about 8 months old. Oh and win xp pro
