I am spending more time over at the pub because of my growing dissatisfaction at the way things are being run. I have seen other people do things and get away with it, yet I get carded, and I do not see the logic.

I checked out the Pub. As a female I don't care to be there. I do think for the guys its a great place to go to say what you really want to say. Hang in there MackemX!

thanks, I appreciate that comment as I know it's not the best place to go for females but I would like to think some females would frequent it once in a while. Obvioulsy due to the lack of order there it's probably not the best place but I'm sure in time it will settle once some organisation is put into place.

that's why I thought about the usergroups so all the crap can just go into the toilets and the main parts of the forum are just segments of a general off topic. I only created 2 usergroups to isolate 90% of the crap from viewing as I didn't want to create multiple usergroups just yet.

there are very relaxed rules on what you can say and talk about and all I simply ask is that people say it in the right place. I also appreciate that this will also take some getting used to by people seeing as I'm forever shuffling the forums about anyway

it's simply not going to be somewhere you can buy pirate DVD's or take your kids but all of the in between and people all are welcome :P

Cap's right Bazooka. I had the same problem the end of the summer. He gave me the same advice. I took it a little further, and left for 7 weeks. I still lurked, but didn't post. Little by little, the posts that really iritated me started to iritate me less. When I came back, I had a whole new attitude, and really enjoy being back. There may still be some things that get on my nerves from time to time, but not enough to come uncorked over, and not enough to leave for good. It's even better now that it's one click to go to a place to blow off steam and collect myself.

I hope you decide to stick around (after a vacation!)

@tekkieman, I know there is no way to satisfy everyone so I'll just go with the majority I suppose seeing as I would like this forum to be designed by those who use it but only if I see fit. I've just designed a rough layout but in time it can and will change for the better

@all, I'm surprised at the take up and interest of members. I'm sure more will come in time and thanks to all those contributing so far, even though some bits were difficult trying to settle the natives . I would also like to think that I will get some support from the guys here but the again maybe not, seeing as there is already one site associated with VH and there won't be room for 2 stickies to forums to chat

I don't have a lot to say one way or the other, as far as comparing VH to The Pub - I think Baldrick's doing a great job here as always, and MX is doing a terrific job for someone just starting out.

Keeping in mind that no one's being paid for this, I surprised that anyone wants to be bothered with doing it at all, but I'm glad someone does.

I'm hoping The Pub matures (in the sense of more people posting, a community appears, etc.) and we can talk about some things we aren't really free to talk about here. Give it some time and MX will work out the kinks, I don't think there's any reason for bitching when it's just getting off the ground. There'll no doubt be some changes based on feedback, and things will get better. I spent quite a bit of time on there yesterday while VH was down, and personally I think it's improving.

No complaints from me.

MackemX pmed me and asked if I would like to mod at the pub, I replied I would be happy to help if he felt he needed it. I would also be equally happy to step aside and give someone else the position if that is whats wanted.

As for the site itself, I think MackemX has done a great job. Like others have stated - I also joined politic when it opened and posted for a while -Rob has a very nice site there if thats your bag. But as I am not really interested in polotics I felt I could not really contribute very much. I still pop in there occasionaly but usually only in Off topic.

I see the pub as an overflow to off topic here, as there is more leniancy in some of the forums it gives us another outlet to post our gibberish.

I see absolutely no reason why all 3 places cannot coexist with people participating in one or all 3 forums as they see fit.

I'm not realy into politics as I always lose out no matter who is Goverment but as Chewie says it's probably a click away between all 3 so why can't it be like that?

I asked the mods to step down so I could start fresh as I don't think there should be a need for mods now anyway and thank those guys for helping. Really all I ask is people don't go showing their arse in the bar (keep it in the back room ) and not making a fool of themselves along with being nice on most occasions to their drinking partners
