not to insult anyone but I sense something of a rift personally as I don't think some people are keen on the pub idea. People have also said why not go to politick and I also thought about joining it to chat but I'm not into politics and wanted somewhere to talk more generally. The pub was a place for all to come to talk about anything you can't here and also have fun when you have finished posting here

in the beginning I just stuck up a forum as a simple hideaway rationally. I've never created a forum or admin'd before in my life, as you can tell when I lost the first 2 days posts . No special skills needed, just some webhosting so I thought why not after asking tekkieman if he was fine with it

apart from the fun most have actually had, all I have seen is people moaning about not doing this, or not being able to do that. Only a few guys over there are using it for what it's for, a getaway from the daily norm of being a video freak :P

Maybe it's me just being paranoid but why do I think that if someone more popular than me here setup a very similar forum they would get more visitors? who knows?

again, no insult intended to anyone, just my passing thoughts but I'm confused as to what people actually want as I thought a Pub theme would be fun to have, seeing as most will enjoy drinking anyway in real life 8)

I checked out the Pub. As a female I don't care to be there. I do think for the guys its a great place to go to say what you really want to say. Hang in there MackemX!

I can hack the heat no problem, it's just a feeling I have gotten over the last few days that's all.

I'm looking for constructive critisism I guess and not destructive as I'm trying to satisfy as many members from here as possible

I don't know why it has to be that way. When Rob set up politick, it was an instant success. It was a great place to discuss many of the isssues not allowed on VH. I think he's done an outstanding job on it. The only reason I don't visit it as often is that it is very political. The discussions are great. Very intelligent (and somewhat heated). The off topic section is a little lightweight, but it's understandable, as that is not it's primary purpose.

We've been told many times since this summer that VH OT needs to clean up it's act. Many have made meager attempts to do so. Some have not. Others have left. I think the recent thread lockings might be an indication there's more cleaning up to do. Someone suggested if the rules weren't liked, start your own site. Well, I didn't do it, you did. And I think it's great! It's a fun place to get rowdy, and blow off some steam. When you're in less of an overly playful mood, hop back to VH OT. I see them as two separate sites with two different purposes. This isn't a competition, it's a supplement.

Ok, a long way to go to get to the part where I feel guilty. I think the reason there may be some hard feelings is because I and a few others complained about the selection of mods. I don't think it was done out of bad feelings or jealousy, but out of frustration. The point was to have a place to blow off steam (even against the VH mods). That's hard to do when the same mods are in both places. It's hard for some of us to see that the rules would be any different with the same cops on duty. We may be wrong, but it's the impression that counts. I can joke with my supervisor at work (to a limit). If we go to a bar to get a drink, I can still joke with him (to a limit). I want to go to a bar where I can feel free to speak my mind, without those limits.

I think one of the reasons Rob's place is so successful is that there aren't any mods. Rob is supreme ruler, and everyone else is equal. Maybe we expected the same thing from the pub. It's also new, and the rules are still a little unclear. If the rules are the same as here, what's the point of it? There will still be spillover, and I've seen it at Rob's place (Cap- remember Mr. Moody?), but I think of them as separate places. I don't plan on leaving VH OT, although I may not post as often, and the posts may not be as borderline. I see that as a good thing. VH OT stays the way they want it, and I have a place to get those rowdy moments off my chest.

I have more to say, but I'm tired of typing, and you're probably tired of reading. I'll save the rest for any replies (if warranted).
